I began my journey in the field of medicine when I joined the military. After completing basic training, I became a Navy Corpsman (medic) and spent 4 years in service.

I am an Iraq War Veteran and spent my time in the military attached to the Marines. After getting out of the military I knew that I wanted to continue in the field of medicine.

I have worked at the VA for several years and in private practice. What made me choose the mental health field? I think that there is not enough emphasis on mental health and I think that there is a huge need to be good providers that can make a positive change in people’s lives who are struggling with mental illness.

I think that through up-to-date practice evidence and recent breakthroughs in the mental health field that people can live full and worthwhile lives.
