Why Sunrise Manor Residents Deserve Better Access to Psychiatric Care
Sunrise Manor is a large unincorporated community on the east side of Las Vegas, home to more than 200,000 residents. It’s one of the most Hispanic communities in Nevada — over 55% of residents identify as Hispanic or Latino — with a median household income around $58,000 and a median age of just 33.7 years. It’s a young, working community where mental health resources have historically been harder to access.
Nearly 18% of Sunrise Manor families live in poverty. Financial stress, language barriers, and limited access to providers are real obstacles for residents seeking mental health care. At MindWell, we accept Medicaid and most major insurance plans and work to make psychiatric care as accessible as possible.
If you’ve been putting off getting help because you didn’t know where to start, or because you weren’t sure if you could afford it — this is the place to call.

Why Choose Us?
We Accept Medicaid
MindWell accepts Nevada Medicaid, making psychiatric care accessible to Sunrise Manor residents regardless of income.
Telehealth — No Transportation Needed
For Sunrise Manor residents without reliable transportation or who work multiple jobs, telehealth appointments eliminate the biggest barrier to care. You connect from your phone or computer at a time that works for you.
Same-Day Appointments
No waitlists. Same-day appointments available for new patients with cash pay, and prompt scheduling for insurance patients.
Veteran Care
Michael Kuron served four years as a Navy Corpsman and spent years at the VA caring for veterans. MindWell accepts CHAMPVA, Tricare, and TriWest for veterans and military families in Sunrise Manor.
Judgment-Free Care
At MindWell, you're treated like a person, not a patient number. We understand that asking for help is hard. We make it easier.
Insurance Accepted
Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, TriWest, Ambetter, Molina, Carelon, CHAMPVA, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Self-pay welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions From Sunrise Manor Residents
I'm on Nevada Medicaid. Can I actually use it here?
Yes. MindWell accepts Nevada Medicaid, including Molina Medicaid, Anthem Medicaid, and Silversummit Medicaid. If you’re not sure which plan you’re on or whether it’s covered, call the office at (702) 530-2549 and the team will verify your benefits before your first visit so there are no surprises.
What days and hours is MindWell open?
MindWell is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The office is closed on Mondays. You can request an appointment online or call (702) 530-2549 directly. Same-day appointments are available for cash-pay patients.
I don't have a car. Can I still be seen?
Yes. After your initial in-person evaluation at MindWell’s Las Vegas office, follow-up appointments can be done via telehealth — connecting with Michael from your phone, tablet, or computer from home. So while your first visit does require coming in, everything after that can be done without leaving Sunrise Manor. You just need a stable internet connection and a quiet private space.
I've tried a couple of medications before and none of them worked. Is there anything different MindWell can do?
Possibly, yes. MindWell offers pharmacogenomic genetic testing — a simple cheek swab or blood test that analyzes your DNA to identify which medications your body is most likely to respond to. It’s a way to take the guesswork out of the process instead of going through months of trial and error with medications that may not be a good fit for your genetics. The test costs $200 as a self-pay service and can be discussed at your first appointment.
I've been dealing with this for a long time but I've never told anyone. Will I be judged?
No. MindWell was opened because Dr. Kuron saw too many people — including veterans — go without care because the system failed them. Your first appointment is a conversation, not a test you can pass or fail. Whatever you have been carrying, you can say it here without judgment.
